My birth name is Carla Maree Saul.
I changed my name to Zephyr Jali with the New South Wales Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages in 2018.
I was born on 12 January 1977 in Armidale, New South Wales, Australia to Mary Saul (nee Soorley) and Gregory Saul who were young teachers in the very small town of Bundarra at the time.
I was raised in the small town of Maclean in Northern New South Wales, Australia.
In 1999, I completed a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) from Sydney University.
In 2001, I completed a Bachelor of Laws with honours from Sydney University.
In 2003, I was admitted to practice as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia after completing my articles in a small specialist family law firm in Brisbane.
I worked for a short time as a family law solicitor in Brisbane until shortly after the birth of my daughter.
...For the last nearly 20 years has been on being a mother and homeschooling my daughter, who is now a young adult and has left home.
I also acted as an informal 'separation consultant' over the telephone. In this role I provided holistic support to people with family law issues. This involved help with letter writing and moral support. Most (if not all) of the people that I supported in this role also had a solicitor acting for them.
In 2018, my daughter and I relocated to the small town of Mt. Molloy in Far North Queensland.
We lived there until April 2022, when I was viciously attacked by a pack of 3 dogs in my backyard at the same time that we were given notice to move out of our long-term rental property.
I have been estranged from my family for a very long time. I moved to Far North Queensland largely to escape from my incredibly toxic family. Although I knew that something was wrong. I had no idea of the dark extent of this toxicity.
In 2022, I mentioned to a few people that I planned to start to speak publicly about a number of issues which included:-
The unconscionable and destructive practices of the Family Court of Australia. This includes its policies in relation to vaccination and policies that support and hide institutionalised abuse and paedophilia; and
The questionable dynamics of my own family and specifically the actions of my maternal uncle, Jim Soorley; and
To renounce the oath to the Crown which I was required to take to be admitted to practice as a solicitor in 2002. This I did in August 2023. This oath is against my belief system and I wish to act with integrity to the best of my ability in all matters.
