Strategies & Dynamics of Human Traffickers
The most effective lies are always mixed with a whole lot of truth.
Many of the people involved Human Trafficking networks hide
In Plain Sight, as
‘Fine Upstanding Members of the Community.’
These people may also do good deeds in the community.
Many have built their entire public persona around this identity.
They love to appear as
‘Community-Minded,’ Moral, and ‘Helpful’ People and Organisations.
They believe (often correctly) that these carefully crafted facades,
place them beyond suspicion or reproach,
and rely on regular people to not look any deeper.
A very common Modus Operandi of Human Traffickers is to offer ‘Help’.
This 'help' is not genuine help,
and is designed to acheive a specific outcome or is not enough ‘help’ to actually allow the victim to escape from the trafficking situation.
The pretense of being 'helpful'
allows the trafficker to justify being close to the victim
whilst appearing 'philanthropic' and beyond suspicion of wrongdoing.
This ‘help’ or ‘concern’ is often designed to put the victim
in even more danger,
Or it may simply prevent the victim
From using their time and energy to seek real help elsewhere.
Traffickers ‘help’ just enough so that
no one can accuse them of not helping.
whilst not acknowledging or helping the victim
with the actual danger they are in at all.
This is a particularly insidious and sadistic form
of ‘strategic’ or
‘Weaponised Incompetence’.
It is easier to think that this sort of thing only happens in Hollywood,
Third-World Countries
or in the ‘Underbelly’ of our Communities.
It is Difficult for People to Face the Truth:
These networks include
Neighbours, Shopkeepers, Local Policemen, the Unemployed
Mechanics, Pastors, Teachers,
Council Members & Grey Nomads.
Human Traffickers could be Anyone at All.
Most people completely underestimate
how vast these networks are
and would be completely horrified and traumatised
if they did know.
